1 Day Tour to St. Catherine
Highlights & Itinerary
Experience two of the most significant sites in the Sinai region—Mount Sinai and St. Catherine’s Monastery—on this memorable one-day tour.
The journey starts with a pickup from your hotel in Eilat. After crossing the Taba border into Egypt, we begin our scenic drive through the Sinai Desert toward Saint Catherine. As we travel, we approach the majestic Mount Sinai, a site of immense religious significance. It is believed to be the location where Moses received the Ten Commandments.
St. Catherine’s Monastery is nestled 1,500 meters up the mountain and is one of the oldest continuously operating monasteries in the world.
Upon arrival, we will tour the renowned St. Catherine’s Monastery, including the historic 6th-century church. You’ll also visit The Burning Bush and Jethro’s Well, key biblical landmarks.
After the monastery visit, we’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
On the return journey to Eilat, we’ll take in a few additional sights, such as the Nuweiba resort on the Red Sea coast, depending on available time. The tour concludes with an evening return to the Taba border, crossing back into Israel.
Note: A minimum of 3 participants is required for this tour. The monastery is closed on Sundays.
